Product description
Langhe Favorita by Abrigo Giovanni is a rare interpretation of this native Piedmontese grape. The grapes come from three vineyards in Diano d’Alba, planted on clay-limestone soils interspersed with compact sand and grey sandstone. With vineyard exposures ranging from northeast to southwest and elevations of 300–400 meters, this wine showcases crispness, finesse, and aromatic purity.
Harvest takes place in early September, fully by hand. Only the first free-run juice is used after gentle pressing. Fermentation is reductive and takes place in pressure-resistant stainless steel tanks at low temperatures, capturing carbon dioxide naturally during fermentation. The wine then ages on its fine lees without malolactic fermentation and spends a minimum of three months in the bottle.
The result is a straw-yellow wine with greenish hues and a delicate sparkle. On the nose, it offers expressive aromas of wildflowers, aromatic herbs, green apple, and pear. After six months, it gains subtle brioche notes from the lees contact. On the palate, it's crisp and mineral, with exceptional drinkability. Ideal as an aperitif or with cold antipasti, crudités, and seasonal fruits.
