Product description
The "Sforzato" by Marcel Zanolari comes from the impressive Valtellina region in Sondrio province, from the town of Bianzone. This red wine is made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, grown in a vineyard since 2001. With 12,667 m² and 8000 plants per hectare, it reflects the rugged beauty of this mountain area. The yield of about 500 grams per vine shows careful selection and strong quality.
The process is traditional. It starts with appassimento: the grapes are dried in special rooms (fruttaio), losing at least 25% of their weight, which makes the taste intense. The wine is made in steel tanks with a cold phase of a few days and fermented with natural yeasts. Then it ages in used barrels, adding structure. Unfiltered and authentic, it comes in 75 cl bottles. Serve at 17-18 °C, opened a few hours before; it keeps for 2-10 years.
The "Sforzato" tastes spicy, with berry jam and cherries – bold yet fresh and juicy. It’s great with venison salmì or roe deer with red berries. Every sip reflects Marcel Zanolari’s passion and Valtellina’s spirit, ideal for fans of natural wines with personality.
