12 and 13 December: the ONWINE Winemakers’ Festival. Winemakers from all ONWINE countries are coming to the Netherlands to let you taste their best wines.
The Capriano del Colle DOC Rosso is a refined red wine from Lombardy, produced by San Michele, a winery that has been working for years to do justice to the unique wine region of Monte Netto. Thanks to careful selection of grapes and thoughtful blending, this wine is perfectly balanced and exudes elegance. The name “Carme” reflects its harmonious and refined character, bringing together ripe fruits and summer flowers. The taste is soft and seductive, without compromising the wine's individuality.
This wine is made from a balanced blend of Marzemino (50%), Merlot (40%) and Sangiovese (10%). The grapes undergo controlled fermentation with skin maceration for about 15 days in stainless steel tanks, followed by refinement in cement vats. This process produces a full, round flavor with pleasant structure and a long finish.
The Carme is an excellent companion to grilled meats, aged meats and even fish soups. Served at a temperature of 16° to 18°C, its character comes out best. A wine that will please lovers of soft, elegant wines as well as connoisseurs of complex reds.
