Rio Maggio's Monte del Grano Falerio DOC pays homage to the rich heritage of Montegranaro, an area once known for its exceptional grain, "the bread of princes". This refined white wine is made from a classic blend of Trebbiano, Pecorino and Passerina, from the slopes on the edge of the Falerio dei Colli Ascolani DOC. Thanks to its location and unique terroir, the wine has a distinct identity, enhanced by meticulous vinification techniques. The grapes are gently pressed, the must is cold clarified at 8-10°C and fermentation is controlled at 16-18°C to preserve freshness and aromatic purity.
In the glass, Monte del Grano shows a bright straw yellow colour with delicate scents of white flowers, plum and pear. The palate is fresh and juicy, with a pleasant minerality reminiscent of the sea breeze of the Adriatic coast. It is supple and thirst-quenching, with a harmonious balance between fruity elegance and lively acidity. The wine ages briefly in stainless steel vats and refines for another month in bottle, adding to its refined, clean character.
The Monte del Grano Falerio DOC is an ideal companion to light Mediterranean dishes. It pairs beautifully with fish dishes, seafood antipasti, soft cheeses and traditional Ascolan olives. Serve this wine lightly chilled, between 8 and 10°C, to fully unleash its fresh aromas and subtle complexity - an authentic expression of the Marche in every glass.
