Flaminio is a fresh and aromatic white wine that follows the ancient route between Rome and Bevagna, the road once known as the Via Flaminia. This historic route, used by Roman people to reach Mevania, provides the inspiration for a wine that links tradition and modernity. For Mevante, Flaminio symbolises the constant travelling, discovering and sharing of their wines, a road that never ends and always reaches new people.
The wine is made from equal parts Trebbiano Spoletino and Grechetto, two authentic white grapes of Umbria. The grapes are vinified separately in stainless steel and later brought together after fermentation, after which the wine rests on fine lie for six months for extra roundness and structure. The vineyards are at around 350 metres altitude in Spoleto, with a southeast exposure and soils of clay, limestone fragments and silt. The vines are on average 15 years old and are harvested by hand from early October.
Flaminio has a bright straw yellow colour with green reflections and a delicate aroma of white flowers, balsamic notes and white peach. On the palate, the wine presents itself round and juicy, with lively acidity and a pleasant freshness that makes it ideal as an aperitif. Thanks to its clean structure and expressive flavour profile, it also goes well with light, uncomplicated dishes, from salads and bruschetta to simple fish dishes. Flaminio is a wine that celebrates everyday enjoyment with an elegant, modern Umbrian signature.
