Product description
Creus Dolcetto d'Asti Superiore DOC takes its name from the Piedmontese word for “deep”. It refers to the roots of vines that are over fifty years old, firmly anchored in clay and limestone soils. This depth translates into a wine with character and authenticity, a Dolcetto that goes beyond pure fruit and lets the essence of its origin speak for itself.
In the glass, Creus shines ruby red with lively violet nuances. The nose opens pure and expressive with aromas of crisp cherries, wild blackberries and juicy plums, complemented by fresh wild herbs and a subtle hint of violets. Maturation in cement tanks preserves the purity of the fruit, while eight months in used oak barriques provide refined notes of sweet spices and a hint of blond tobacco, without overshadowing the natural freshness.
On the palate, the wine is direct and sincere, with a firm but elegant structure. Silky tannins and lively acidity provide balance and drinkability, while the finish remains long and pure, with ripe fruit and a slight mineral touch. Served at 16–18 °C, Creus comes into its own with classic pasta dishes with ragù, grilled red meat or mature cheeses, but also with simple, savoury dishes where authenticity is key.
Wine purchased via Onwine comes directly from the winery. All wineries pack the bottles themselves and hand them over to our shipping partner. Onwine works with boxes the size of 6 or 12 bottles.
To guarantee safe delivery, it is therefore also a requirement that orders are always made in multiples of 6 bottles.
The following shipping costs apply:
6 bottles at the same winery: €6,-
12+ bottles at the same winery: No shipping costs
You can order from several wineries at the same time. The above shipping costs apply to each individual winery.
