Leo Aumann's Riesling Ried Hofbreite 2024 is a pure expression of a historic vineyard in Gumpoldskirchen, where viticulture has played a central role for centuries. The vineyard, first mentioned in 1141, lies at an altitude of some 250 metres and benefits from a western exposure. Here, chalky soils with shell layers and loam create wines with depth, tension and a distinct mineral character.
On the nose, the wine opens with refined aromas of white and stone fruit, such as peach and apricot, complemented by a subtle freshness. On the palate, it reveals itself tight and precise, with lively acidity perfectly balanced with ripe fruit notes. The structure is elegant and energetic, with fruit and minerality blending harmoniously.
This Riesling shows what the Thermenregion has to offer: finesse, character and a clear provenance. The combination of old vines, special soils and an excellent location results in a wine with tension, length and a refined, mineral finish.
