Leo Aumann's 2023 Pinot Noir Ried Bockfuss comes from a high-altitude vineyard on the Badener Berg, some 300 metres above sea level, bordering the Wienerwald. This unique location ensures cool influences and slow ripening, allowing the wine to retain its refined aromatics and fresh tension. The loamy sandy soils contribute to the elegant structure and pure character of this Pinot Noir.
On the nose, the wine opens with delicate aromas of cranberry, complemented by spicy notes and a subtle hint of red pepper that provides liveliness. On the palate, it shows itself juicy and refined, with a nice balance between freshness and structure. Fine, well-integrated tannins give the wine depth and a firm backbone, without losing its elegance.
The wine is layered and precise, with a long, refined finish that lingers. This is a Pinot Noir that combines both finesse and character and is a great example of how this grape is expressed in the Thermenregion.
