Château L'Agnet La Carrière 2023 is a classic Sauternes that beautifully captures the elegance and power of this iconic appellation. The vineyards (5 hectares) are on sandy gravel soils, which ensures drainage, concentration and finesse in the grapes. Work is done with patience here: the harvest is done in successive pickings, so that only bunches perfectly concentrated by noble rot are selected.
The wine is made from 100% Sémillon. Manual harvest is followed by gentle and slow pressing, followed by fermentation and ageing in concrete cuves to preserve purity and tension. The result is a Sauternes with depth, but also with fresh vibrancy.
In the glass, the wine shows a golden yellow colour with copper reflections. The nose is extremely refined with notes of blond tobacco, sultanas and honey. On the palate, the wine combines lushness with freshness, perfectly balanced, with a lively core and rich texture, rounded off by aromas of candied citrus in the long finish. A gourmet Sauternes with elegance and excitement.
