The Vintage "La Porte Goliva" 2020 from Champagne Hautbois is an exceptional single plot champagne made from 100% Pinot Meunier. This exclusive cuvée comes from a small south-facing vineyard in Pévy, located in the Massif de Saint-Thierry. Old vines more than 30 years old, a chalky and clay-rich soil and meticulous selection of perfectly ripe grapes create a champagne with impressive depth and terroir expression.
In the glass, the champagne shows a deep golden yellow colour with refined, lively bubbles. In the nose, aromas of ripe yellow fruit, brioche, toasted notes and subtle wood influences open up elegantly. On the palate, the champagne presents itself powerful and creamy, with a full structure, refined mousse and a wonderful balance between freshness and richness. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and is fully vinified and aged in oak barrels, adding complexity, roundness and a refined gourmet character. Barrel maturation is followed by a further 36 months of aging on the groin, adding extra depth and elegance.
This Extra Brut champagne is particularly suited to gourmet dishes and exclusive moments. It pairs beautifully with lobster, scallops, roast poultry dishes and refined cheeses. Thanks to the low dosage and long ageing, the champagne maintains a perfect tension between power, finesse and freshness.
