The Würzer is one of the most popular wines at the Weingut Keber Kolling estate, and that comes as no surprise. It is a particularly aromatic grape variety that captivates with its powerful, spicy aromas, fruity sweetness and mild acidity. The Spätlese version, harvested late to ensure extra ripeness and concentration, is an absolute delight.
Vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel, which fully preserves the intense aromas. In the glass, it is clear and pale yellow to golden yellow. The nose is expressive and alluring: powerfully spicy and aromatic, with exotic fruit and a pleasantly sweet impression. On the palate, it is fruity and sweet with mild acidity and a warm, full-bodied character.
A wine that calls for a special occasion. It is delicious as the finale to a meal, with a dessert of exotic fruit or a ripe, creamy cheese. With spicy Asian food such as a Thai curry or Vietnamese dishes, the fruity sweetness works surprisingly well as a counterbalance. It is also a delight simply served chilled as a treat on a warm summer’s evening. Serve at 8–10°C.
