Piesport is one of the best-known names on the Moselle, and with good reason. On the steep, chalky slopes above the picturesque Moselle bend, Riesling grapes ripen in a microclimate unlike any other in the world. Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt has been tending the vineyards here for generations, working exclusively by hand, and each year produces a Riesling that reflects the breadth and character of Piesport as faithfully as possible.
Meticulous handwork in the vineyard and traditional winemaking in the cellars of Schloss Marienlay result in a dry Riesling with impressive body. In the glass, it is clear and pale yellow. The aroma is enticing and broad: peach, grapefruit and apple, complemented by the Moselle’s characteristic playful minerality. On the palate, this is a wine with great presence: the well-integrated acidity provides freshness, whilst the fruity body offers depth and satisfaction.
Excellent with red meat, asparagus and white meat. A versatile table wine with class. Serve at 9–11°C.
