This Riesling from Leistadt's chalky vineyards is a purely terroir-driven wine with a distinct character. Spontaneously fermented and aged for 12 months in small, used oak barrels, it was bottled unfiltered to retain its raw precision and authentic expression.
On the nose, it shows understated and refined, with floral and vegetal notes, hints of yellow fruit and a hint of root vegetables. On the palate, the wine is completely dry, with firm acidity, fine tannic structure and mineral depth. Subtle earthy, smoky and nutty nuances make it exciting and layered.
