Vinification takes place at controlled temperature with a skin soaking for 10 to 15 days to extract maximum aromas and colour. Then the Sangiovese and Merlot mature for 12 months in stainless steel tanks, while the powerful Sagrantino refines in wooden barrels. After blending, the wine rests for another six months in bottle, ensuring harmonious integration of flavours.
In the glass, the Montefalco Rosso presents itself with a bright ruby red colour. The bouquet opens with aromas of wild berries on alcohol, supported by spicy nuances. On the palate, this wine is medium-bodied, round and fresh, with a pleasant drinkability and an elegant finish.
A versatile companion at the table, this wine is excellent with savoury soups, pasta dishes with meat sauce, mature cheeses and grilled red meats. Serve at 16-18 Β°C to fully unleash all the finesse of this Montefalco classic. Thanks to its storage potential of 5 to 8 years, it is also a wine that will still develop nicely in bottle.
