Perticaia's Spoleto DOC Trebbiano Spoletino is a pure and characterful white wine made entirely from the indigenous Trebbiano Spoletino grape. These grapes are harvested by hand during the coolest hours of the day, in multiple rounds of picking to capture all the aromatic layers of the variety. After gentle pressing of the whole bunches under controlled conditions, the juice undergoes cold clarification and slow low-temperature fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine then matures for three to four months on fine groins, adding structure and complexity.
In the glass, the wine shows a bright, lemon-yellow colour. The bouquet opens with notes of green fruits like pear, combined with hints of tropical fruits like banana. As the wine matures further in bottle, it develops subtle aromas of mineral origin, such as a touch of hydrocarbon. The palate is full and fresh, with lively minerality, medium acidity and a soft, slightly sweet finish that is nicely balanced.
This elegant white wine is not only an excellent aperitif, but also goes perfectly with fish, seafood, white meat or mild cheeses. Serve it preferably between 10 and 12 °C to fully unleash its refined expression. With an ageing potential of three years, this is a wine that drinks wonderfully both young and slightly aged.
