Dolcetto di Diano d’Alba “Sorì dei Crava” is the signature wine of Cascina Crava, coming from the vineyard of the same name in Diano d’Alba. “Sorì” is a Piedmontese term meaning “sun-exposed slope,” and this perfectly describes the character of the wine: ripe, expressive, and full of warmth. Located at 350 meters above sea level on calcareous marl and sandstone-rich soils with a south-western exposure, this site offers optimal conditions for Dolcetto.
In the glass, it presents a deep ruby red hue with the typical violet tinge of Dolcetto. The nose reveals notes of wild cherry, sour cherry, red berry liqueur, along with hints of tea, hay, and almond. On the palate, the wine is dry and enveloping, supported by a gentle tannic backbone and balanced acidity. The lingering almond finish confirms its varietal typicity.
Aged exclusively in stainless steel tanks, this wine preserves its fruity and vibrant nature. Ideal with Piedmontese-style raw meat, warm antipasti, vegetable flans, Parmesan cheese, or mushroom pasta. Best served at 16–18 °C.
