Product description
Perticaia's Umbria Rosso IGT is a lively and accessible red wine that elegantly captures the essence of Umbria. This wine is composed of 80% Sangiovese and 20% local blue grapes from the Montefalco area. The grapes are harvested by hand in the second half of September, after which the different grape varieties are vinified separately. Fermentation is slow and under controlled temperature, with a short skin soaking to preserve fresh fruitiness.
After vinification, the wine matures for six to 12 months on stainless steel, ensuring a pure and balanced character without the influence of wood. In the glass, it shows a deep ruby colour with violet reflections, developing into classic ruby with age. The bouquet offers enticing aromas of red fruit, floral accents and a subtle spiciness. On the palate, the wine is lively and well-balanced, with a soft structure and a fruity, supple finish.
This Umbria Rosso is ideally suited to informal dinners and gourmet pairings with fine meats, mild cheeses, light starters and spicy grain soups. Serve it at 16°C for an optimal experience. With a storage potential of three to five years, this is a versatile wine that shows its charm both young and lightly aged.
Wine purchased via Onwine comes directly from the winery. All wineries pack the bottles themselves and hand them over to our shipping partner. Onwine works with boxes the size of 6 or 12 bottles.
To guarantee safe delivery, it is therefore also a requirement that orders are always made in multiples of 6 bottles.
The following shipping costs apply:
6 bottles at the same winery: €6,-
12+ bottles at the same winery: No shipping costs
You can order from several wineries at the same time. The above shipping costs apply to each individual winery.
