Maison Safranier's AOP Rasteau is a modern interpretation of a classic Southern Rhône wine, which focuses on elegance and softness. Sourced from chalky clay soils with rounded stones, this wine gets its power and depth from a terroir known for its ripe, concentrated grapes. The blend of 50% Grenache, 40% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre creates a perfect interplay between fruit, spiciness and structure.
The grapes are harvested at optimum ripeness and fully destemmed, followed by a traditional vinification in temperature-controlled concrete tanks. A light filtration before bottling preserves the purity of the wine. In the glass, it shows a deep purple colour with violet reflections, while the nose opens with complex aromas of flowers, ripe fruit and spicy notes such as liquorice.
On the palate, the wine is round and silky smooth, with a nice balance between ripe black and red fruit, spices and well-integrated tannins. The structure is generous and seductive, with a long, harmonious finish. A wine that is both accessible in its youth and suitable for further aging.
