Product description
Burdunì is Castello di Grumello's own interpretation of Cabernet Sauvignon from Valcalepio: straightforward, supple and with a long, pleasantly balsamic finish. The vineyards are on marly limestone soils with a south to southwest exposure at 200-300 metres altitude. The mild climate between Bergamo and Lake Iseo gives ripe dark fruit, while the nearby mountains provide freshness and excitement.
The blend consists of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot. Traditional destemming is followed by temperature-controlled fermentation at 26-28 °C in stainless steel, with a long 24-day maceration with remontage and pigeage for depth and structure. Malolactic fermentation takes place in inox, followed by 12 months aging in second-pass barriques, keeping the wood influence refined. After bottling, the wine rests for another 3-5 months in bottle.
In the glass, Burdunì is intense ruby red. The nose shows ripe black fruit, particularly plum, followed by spicy notes of chocolate and leather. On the palate, the texture is rich and velvety, with a supple structure and a long, slightly balsamic finish. An approachable but serious red wine with storage potential, which both gives immediate pleasure and can age.
Wine purchased via Onwine comes directly from the winery. All wineries pack the bottles themselves and hand them over to our shipping partner. Onwine works with boxes the size of 6 or 12 bottles.
To guarantee safe delivery, it is therefore also a requirement that orders are always made in multiples of 6 bottles.
The following shipping costs apply:
6 bottles at the same winery: €6,-
12+ bottles at the same winery: No shipping costs
You can order from several wineries at the same time. The above shipping costs apply to each individual winery.
