Château Moutin 2022 - Graves AOC from Vignobles Darriet is a refined white Bordeaux from the village of Portets, in the southern part of the Graves. The vineyard of just one hectare is close to the Garonne River and benefits from a cooling microclimate. The soil consists of pure, concentrated Graves gravel with clay in the subsoil, creating tension, finesse and a distinct terroir character.
The wine is composed of 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Sémillon, from around 40-year-old vines. Before fermentation, the grapes undergo a 12- to 18-hour skin maceration to obtain maximum aromatic extraction. The wine then matures for eight months on the lie in oak barrels, with regular bâtonnage to add complexity and creaminess.
In the glass, the 2022 stands out immediately with an expressive nose of lemon zest, yellow fruit and chamomile. On the palate, it is fresh and layered, with creamy notes of white pear. The wine shows slightly rounder than earlier vintages, but retains the lively, distinctive acidity of Graves. An elegant, terroir-driven white Bordeaux with tension and length.
