Rio Maggio's Monà Passerina Marche IGT is an elegant and lively white wine that pays tribute to Professor Angelo Monà from Ticino. This pioneer settled in Montegranaro in 1860 with the mission to renew agriculture and restore fertility to the region. His progressive spirit lives on in this wine, which is made entirely from the indigenous Passerina grape - an ancient and characterful variety deeply rooted in the Marche. With manual harvesting in late September and a meticulous vinification process, Monà shows the pure character of its origins.
The wine undergoes cold fermentation at 16°C to preserve its natural freshness and then ages for at least two months in stainless steel tanks, followed by a brief refinement in bottle. The result is a wine of exceptional clarity and vibrancy. In the glass, Monà shows a brilliant straw yellow colour with delicate aromas of white flowers, citrus and ripe fruit. The palate is soft and harmonious, with fresh, fruity notes and a subtle minerality that gives the wine tension and length. Its lively character and fine acidity make it not only enjoyable, but also refined and versatile.
The Monà Passerina Marche IGT is ideal as an accompaniment to light Mediterranean dishes. It comes out beautifully with seafood, fish dishes, soft cheeses, fine meats and white meats. Serve it well-chilled, around 10°C, to let its fresh aromas and lively flavour speak fully - a wine that effortlessly combines tradition, innovation and elegance.
