Rio Maggio's Colle Monteverde Falerio Pecorino DOC is a tribute to the agricultural heritage of the Marche region and to Monteverde Castle, which is deeply rooted in local history. The wine is made entirely from 100% Pecorino, a native grape variety that owes its name to the shepherds of the Marche, who once called it "vino de li pecuri" - wine of the sheep. The grapes grow on historic transhumance routes and are harvested by hand in early September, carefully selected to preserve the pure expression of the terroir.
After gentle pressing and selection of the best must, the wine undergoes fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures of 16-18°C. It then matures on its fine lees until March, giving it complexity and depth. In the glass, the Colle Monteverde shows a bright straw yellow colour and a delicate aroma of white flowers, jasmine and white peach. On the palate, it is elegant and balanced, with a refined structure in which freshness and a slight alcoholic warmth complement each other. Its lively acidity gives the wine delicious tension and a long, clean finish.
The Colle Monteverde Falerio Pecorino DOC is an excellent companion to refined fish dishes, seafood, white meat and soft cheeses. Serve this wine chilled, between 10 and 12°C, to fully show off its aromatic richness and fresh minerality. A wine with elegance, exuding tradition and refinement, capturing the authentic soul of the Marche in every glass.
