Product description
This tasting package offers a wonderful introduction to the power and elegance of this versatile wine region. Discover the fresh Trebbiano Romagnolo, Sangiovese in various styles, and the versatile, ancient Albana.
'Pietramora' Romagna Sangiovese Marzeno Riserva DOC 2019 is Fattoria Zerbina's iconic top cuvée and is considered one of the reference wines of Emilia-Romagna. Vinification takes place partly in stainless steel and partly in French oak, followed by prolonged aging in tonneaux. This results in a Sangiovese with power and precision, where terroir and craftsmanship come together. On the palate, the wine is muscular yet refined, with lively acidity that balances concentration. The tannins are powerful yet finely honed, ensuring length and aging potential. This is a wine that already impresses, but develops even more depth and complexity with aging.
'Torre di Ceparano' Romagna Sangiovese Superiore Riserva DOC 2019 is the concentrated, serious interpretation of Sangiovese at Fattoria Zerbina. Fermentation with extended maceration builds structure, after which aging in French oak (with a small component of American oak) adds depth and complexity without overpowering the fruit. The result is a Riserva with power, precision, and aging potential. The tannins are firm yet refined, while the acidity keeps the wine lively and balanced. This is a Sangiovese that already impresses, but gains even more length and complexity with bottle aging.
'Ceregio' Romagna Sangiovese Superiore DOC is the pure, unfiltered expression of Sangiovese from the hills around Modigliana and Brisighella. Fermentation in stainless steel with maceration preserves the freshness of the fruit, while aging in steel and cement rounds out the wine without losing its energy. The result is a modern, terroir-driven Sangiovese with depth and drinkability. The style is elegant and crisp, with sufficient structure to be gastronomically versatile, yet without becoming heavy. A wine that charms now, but also gains complexity with some bottle aging.
'Ceregio' Bianco Romagna Trebbiano DOC is a clear, uncomplicated expression of Trebbiano Romagnolo from the hills of Laghetto. On the palate, it reveals itself as dry, lively, and elegant, with fresh acidity and a light, mineral grip. The style is direct and accessible, yet with enough structure to remain interesting. A wine that invites another sip and moves effortlessly at the table.
'Bianco di Ceparano' Romagna Albana Secco DOCG is the pure expression of the ancient, rather rare Albana grape, which has been found in Emilia-Romagna since the 13th century. On the palate, it combines structure and freshness: juicy fruit, a light salty tension, and a beautiful, dry grip. Aging on fine lees provides roundness without losing precision. This is a gastronomic white wine that charms both now and gains complexity with a few years of bottle aging.
'Arrocco' Romagna Albana Passito DOCG 2023 is the lush, sweet expression of Albana. This passito is produced from a combination of grapes dried in crates and late-harvested grapes with noble rot on the vine, resulting in concentration and layering. This is an intensely aromatic dessert wine with a balance between sweetness and freshness. The texture is full and enveloping, yet never heavy; the finish is long and layered. A passito with depth, finesse, and distinct terroir.
