The 2018 Pinot Bianco DOP Friuli Isonzo by Amandum is a fresh, juicy white wine sourced from well-ventilated, dry vineyards on a gravelly plain with reddish clay, rich in iron oxide and aluminum. The Pinot Bianco grapes are harvested in early September, carefully destemmed, and gently crushed. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 15ā18Ā°C.
After fermentation, the wine settles sur lie in stainless steel tanks and ages for twelve months. In the glass, this Pinot Bianco displays a light yellow color with lemon-green accents and remarkable clarity. The aromas develop subtly with notes of jasmine, apple, and pear, enriched with fresh lemon peel and bergamot.
The wine starts very light on the palate. It then develops into freshness and juiciness, which give way to an elegant aroma of delicate vanilla and custard. With good structure, the subtle complexity aligns perfectly with the taste and aroma. The Pinot Bianco pairs excellently with Mediterranean-style fish and is also delicious as an aperitif. Serve chilled at 10Ā°C to fully appreciate the flavor development in the glass.
