At the foot of Monte Rosa, where glaciers shaped the landscape centuries ago, Ghemme DOCG emerges - a wine that carries the character of Alto Piemonte in every drop. On the fluvio-glacial hills around Ghemme, in zones such as Cavenago, Rossini and Carella, the grapes grow on poor, mineral soils of sand and clay. Here, the vines have to fight, and that is precisely what gives the wine its depth and tension.
Made from mainly Nebbiolo (locally called Spanna) with a small addition of Vespolina, this wine combines power with refinement. In the glass, it shows an intense ruby red colour with garnet hues. The nose is noble and understated, with an elegant complexity that unfolds slowly and invites attentive tasting.
On the palate, it is dry and structured, with a firm, almost stern attack that turns into a long, characterful finish. This is a wine with personality: earthy, mineral and refined, perfect for those who love depth and authenticity.
