On the ancient moraine hills of Alto Piemonte, formed by retreating glaciers, Il Chiosso's Ghemme Terre Moreniche is created. Here, where sand, clay and rock meet in mineral-rich soil, grapes grow under the influence of a cool alpine climate. The result is a wine that seamlessly combines elegance and structure and beautifully reflects the character of Ghemme DOCG.
Made from mainly Nebbiolo, supplemented by a small amount of Vespolina, this wine shows in the glass with a deep ruby red colour that evolves into garnet. On the nose, it opens refined and layered, with notes of red fruit, spices and subtle earthy and mineral undertones. The aromatic profile is classic and understated, but at the same time complex and inviting.
On the palate, the wine is dry and structured, with elegant tannins and lively acidity providing tension and length. The style is refined, with a nice balance between power and finesse. A wine that develops excellently with time and comes into its own perfectly at the table.
