Product description
Saint-Joseph "La Voturerie" 2024 comes from one unique, high-altitude old vineyard (around 350 m) at the far northern edge of the appellation. The plot combines 35-year-old vines with older vines of around 50 years, giving depth and concentration. The slopes face the rising sun, allowing the grapes to ripen while retaining freshness. On argilo-limestone soils with granite subsoil, Syrah gets its distinctive tension and peppery finesse here.
The vineyard is farmed organically (unlabelled), with care for foliage and minimal stress on the vines. Harvesting is done at optimum ripeness of both berries and stalks. Vinification includes a long maceration of over a month in tronconic cuves, with gentle extraction to preserve elegance. The wine matures for 18 months in slowly toasted tonneaux, with only 15% new wood so as not to overpower the terroir.
In the glass, La Voturerie shows a deep ruby colour, almost black. The nose combines black cherry and cassis with the biting freshness of black pepper. On the palate, the wine is intense but elegant, with powerful fruit, precise tannins and a nice tension that carries the length. A Saint-Joseph with backbone, finesse and nice storage potential.
Wine purchased via Onwine comes directly from the winery. All wineries pack the bottles themselves and hand them over to our shipping partner. Onwine works with boxes the size of 6 or 12 bottles.
To guarantee safe delivery, it is therefore also a requirement that orders are always made in multiples of 6 bottles.
The following shipping costs apply:
6 bottles at the same winery: €6,-
12+ bottles at the same winery: No shipping costs
You can order from several wineries at the same time. The above shipping costs apply to each individual winery.
