The Pinot Grigio from Kellerei Sankt Pauls is no ordinary Pinot Grigio. The grapes grow on heat-retaining moraine soils close to the centre of San Paolo, at an altitude of 250 to 450 metres. These soils and the location give the wine its full-bodied mouthfeel and juicy acidity, something you rarely find in an average Pinot Grigio.
The grapes are fermented slowly at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, which optimally preserves the fruity and aromatic characteristics of the grape variety. In the glass, the wine is clear and pale yellow. The nose is appealing: exotic spices, ripe pear and melon. On the palate, it combines a juicy acidity with a full-bodied, satisfying mouthfeel.
Delicious with starters, fish, light meat dishes and mushroom dishes. Serve at 10–12°C.
The wine comes directly from the winemakers, they send the bottles themselves.
