The Zweigelt Rosé Federspiel 2025 is a fresh and fruity rosé from Weingut Schwaiger in Wösendorf in the Wachau. The Zweigelt thrives on the estate’s hillside and terraced plots, on the characteristic paragneiss, loam and loess soils, thanks to the Wachau’s unique microclimate of cool nights and warm days. Following a careful manual harvest, the grapes are gently pressed and the must ferments under temperature-controlled conditions in stainless-steel tanks, which optimally preserves the Zweigelt’s fresh fruit notes.
In the glass, the Zweigelt Rosé displays a bright, pale salmon-pink colour. The nose is inviting and fruity, with notes of preserved cherries, a hint of stone fruit and red berries, complemented by nuances of mandarin peel. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with a subtle acidity and fresh strawberries in the aftertaste. The lingering, fruity finish makes it particularly easy to drink and versatile.
The Zweigelt Rosé is an ideal accompaniment to antipasti, salads and Asian dishes. It also pairs excellently with light summer dishes, tapas and spicy snacks. On a hot summer’s day, it’s also delicious as a summery soft drink, mixed with soda and a slice of lemon.
