The Riesling Federspiel Ried Kollmütz 2025 comes from one of the most renowned vineyards of Weingut Schwaiger in Wösendorf in the Wachau. On the hillside and terraced plots of the Ried Kollmütz, with its characteristic paragneiss, loam and loess soils, the Riesling thrives thanks to the Wachau’s unique microclimate of cool nights and warm days. Following a careful manual harvest, the grapes are gently pressed and the must ferments under temperature-controlled conditions in stainless-steel tanks, which optimally preserves the typical freshness and minerality of Wachau Riesling.
In the glass, the Ried Kollmütz displays a clear, pale greenish-yellow colour with silvery highlights. The nose is delicate and refined, with notes of fresh stone fruit, white apple and hints of orange peel, complemented by a mineral touch. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with ripe peach, a fresh acidity and a mineral, lemony character that lingers on the finish. A classic Wachau Riesling with character and elegance.
With its lively freshness and minerality, the Ried Kollmütz is an ideal accompaniment to fish and seafood, light poultry dishes, asparagus and Austrian dishes with a refined spiciness. It also works excellently as an aperitif or with sushi.
