Product description
Il Maestoso is the undisputed flagship of the Collesanti range, a Sangiovese Riserva of the highest quality sourced from the hills of Cesena in Tessello. Following a 15-day maceration on the skins, the wine is aged for 24 months in tonneaux, followed by six months in stainless steel and a further six months in the bottle, making a total ageing period of 36 months.
In the glass, Il Maestoso displays an intense ruby red colour. The nose offers pleasant notes of ripe forest fruits. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, with well-developed tannins and an enveloping, long finish that reflects the richness and complexity of a true Riserva.
Il Maestoso is the ideal wine for a festive meal: it pairs perfectly with roast meats, ragù and mature cheeses. Thanks to its ageing potential, it is also excellently suited to further cellaring.
