The Riesling from Weingut Keber Kolling is straightforward, juicy, spicy and exactly as a good Nahe Riesling should be. The family-run estate in Sommerloch, which operates on an organic basis and is ECOVIN-certified, cultivates its Riesling on the Nahe’s typically varied soils – comprising sand, sandstone and slate – on the Sommerlocher Steinrossel and Roxheimer Berg plots.
The wine is vinified in stainless steel at a controlled temperature, which preserves the fresh Riesling minerality and the lively acidity. In the glass, it is clear and pale yellow. The aroma is classic Riesling: mineral, spicy and fresh, with fruity notes of citrus and yellow apple. On the palate, it is juicy and medium-bodied, with a lively acidity that harmonises well with the fruity nuances.
This Riesling is a versatile table wine that pairs well with many dishes. It excels with Asian cuisine and seafood, but works just as well with white meat, risotto or fresh cheeses. It’s an absolute hit as an aperitif. Serve chilled at 9–11°C.
