The Regent is one of the most characterful red grape varieties in the Weingut Keber Kolling range. This fungus-resistant variety combines Mediterranean fullness with the typically delicate, restrained acidity and fruitiness of the Nahe region. Furthermore, Regent has excellent ageing potential and continues to improve over time.
In the glass, the Regent displays a deep, intense ruby-red colour. The nose is full and warm: Mediterranean red fruit, dark berries and a subtle spiciness. The natural tannins give it a pleasant mouthfeel. On the palate, it combines fullness and depth with a delicate, restrained acidity that gives it its Nahe character.
A wine that shows its best side with hearty dishes. It really comes into its own with a game stew, grilled red meat or a dish featuring mushrooms and red berries. It is also an excellent match for mature cheeses such as aged Gouda or a tangy farmhouse cheese. Allow it to breathe for half an hour before serving and pour it at 16–18°C for the best result.
