The Rosé Menà is the elegant rosé in Cantina Ongaresca’s sparkling wine range. With 80 per cent Pinot Nero as the dominant grape, this wine has a distinctive character and a lovely, delicate rosé colour. The name is a nod to the local dialect of Lessinia, the hills of Vicenza where the estate’s vineyards are situated.
Pinot Nero and Chardonnay are fermented at a controlled temperature and then mature for 36 months on the fine lees in the bottle. In the glass, the Rosé Menà displays a delicate pale pink colour with a fine, persistent perlage. The nose is fresh and intense, with notes of red berries, grapefruit and floral aromas. On the palate, it is well-balanced and pleasant, with lovely freshness and a lingering finish typical of Pinot Nero.
Delicious as an aperitif, but also excellent with light fish dishes, raw vegetable platters, seafood and grilled white meat. Serve chilled at 6–8°C.
