Cantina Ongaresca’s Pinot Nero demonstrates what this demanding grape variety can achieve on the limestone soils of Lessinia. Ten months’ ageing in barriques gives the wine its elegant structure and its subtle, well-integrated hint of oak. An Italian Pinot Noir full of character and finesse.
The Pinot Nero is aged for 10 months in barriques. In the glass, it displays a vibrant ruby red colour. The nose is intense, with red berries, cherries and a delicate flavour profile, complemented by subtle spicy and salty notes. On the palate, it is long and elegant, with great expressiveness and a fascinating, lingering initial note of mineral flint. A wine with character and ageing potential.
The Pinot Nero is excellent with roasted meat dishes, poultry, pasta with rich sauces and hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C and allow it to breathe for half an hour.
