Cantina Ongaresca did not start out as a wine estate. It began as a place to breathe. In 1995, the Sinico and Traverso families established an estate in the hills of Lessinia, near Vicenza, with a single aim in mind: to create a place where one could live, ride, work and enjoy life surrounded by nature. Horses were central to the project from the very beginning. The estate became a recognised stud farm, a place where these special animals were born and reared. Wine was not part of the story at first. But good places attract good ideas.
