'Re Giorgio' is a characterful Langhe Rosso from La Trava, a blend of 60% barbera and 40% cabernet sauvignon. Some of the barbera grapes are dried in wooden crates for four months after harvest, giving the wine extra concentration and depth. Aging in barrique for ten months adds refinement and complexity.
In the glass, 'Re Giorgio' presents itself with a deep ruby red colour. The aroma is powerful and intense, with ripe notes of red fruit, pepper, wilted flowers and a spicy undertone. On the palate, the wine is full and round, with soft tannins, fresh accents and a harmonious structure. The long finish emphasises its elegance and creates a lasting impression.
This wine is ideally suited to accompany hearty dishes such as game, stews, leg of lamb or aged cheeses. 'Re Giorgio' also comes into its own with a festive dinner or an autumnal meal. Serve at 16-18 °C and discover a wine in which tradition, innovation and craftsmanship come together.
