Tergeno is Zerbina's exciting interpretation of Albana in a modern, layered white wine. The cuvée combines 80% dry Albana with 20% late-harvested Albana with noble rot, providing extra depth and texture without becoming sweet. The grapes grow on fine alluvial deposits, which give the wine its elegant tension. Fermentation in stainless steel preserves freshness; aging in cement adds roundness and lets the terroir speak for itself.
In the glass, Tergeno 2024 shows a nice balance between freshness and ripeness. On the palate, you taste juicy stone fruit and citrus, with a subtle honey note from the late harvest adding layers to the wine. The acids keep things tight and refreshing, while the texture feels creamy due to the short aging in cement. The result is a gourmet white wine with tension as well as depth.
At the table, Tergeno is versatile: it goes beautifully with fish and seafood, creamy vegetable dishes and delicate starters. It also goes nicely with dishes with a slightly sweet accent (think roasted root vegetables).
