Product description
Albèdo, a ‘snow-white embrace’, is Fratelli Marco’s Metodo Classico sparkling wine, made from the same Erbaluce grapes used to produce the Àura. Here, the grape variety reveals its most refined side: in keeping with the traditional method, the typical fruity and floral characteristics of Erbaluce are combined with the complexity that comes from 24 months of ageing on the lees in the bottle.
The base wine matures for 6 months in stainless steel on the fine lees with periodic batonnage, after which the second fermentation takes place in the bottle and the wine matures on the lees for 24 months. Zero dosage: no added sugar, just the pure expression of the grape variety. An early harvest keeps the acidity vibrant, giving the wine a pleasant, lively freshness that is retained even after the long ageing on the lees. The tertiary notes of the Metodo Classico are kept subtle, allowing the fruity and floral secondary aromas of the Erbaluce to shine through.
An elegant sparkling wine for an aperitif, but also excellent with light fish dishes, oysters, seafood and delicate starters. Serve chilled at 7–9°C.
