This Barbera d'Asti DOCG from La Trava is a powerful and elegant red wine, made from 100% barbera. After an eight-month ageing in barrique, it develops impressive depth and complexity, without losing its fresh core.
The wine shows in the glass with an intense crimson colour. In the nose, it unfolds a rich aroma of ripe red fruits such as cherries and berries, subtly intertwined with spicy notes of vanilla and pepper coming from the wood. On the palate, it is full and round, with a nice balance between ripe fruit notes, fresh acidity and soft tannins. The finish is long and inviting, with lingering freshness.
This Barbera d'Asti is an excellent choice with rich meat dishes such as stew, game or a classic osso buco. It also comes into its own with aged cheeses or mushroom dishes. Serve at 16-18 °C for the best flavour experience. A wine with character as well as charm, ideal for a special meal.
