Since the 2018 vintage, Carlo – representing the fifth generation alongside his sister Michela – introduced a bold idea: to create a blend in a winery known for its single-varietal tradition. The result is Piemonte DOC “Cuvée di Carlo”, a true “Super Piedmont” made from Barbera, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah.
Barbera brings structure and bright Piedmontese acidity, while Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah add softness, spice, and international elegance. Each grape is harvested at its optimal ripeness and undergoes a maceration of 10 to 18 days, tailored to its nature. A first blend takes place after alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, followed by 24 months of barrel aging. A second blending ensures harmony and complexity before bottling.
The Piemonte DOC “Cuvée di Carlo” is bottled three years after harvest and aged an additional six months in bottle. The result is a rich, balanced wine with notes of ripe dark fruit, spice, cocoa, and a touch of tobacco. Full-bodied and velvety on the palate, it pairs beautifully with grilled meats, stews, game, or aged cheeses – a true delight for lovers of refined blends.
