Product description
Pinot Noir is the noble grape behind Burgundy’s greatest wines, and it made its way to Piedmont in the 19th century thanks to Camillo Benso, Count of Cavour, a passionate admirer of elegant French wines. Known for its delicate and demanding nature, Pinot Noir only reveals its full potential in the right terroir—hence the name “Il Magno”, a tribute to the greatness it can achieve.
After a 10–14 day maceration, Pinot Noir “Il Magno” undergoes alcoholic fermentation in barriques, where it also completes malolactic fermentation and matures for six months. The following summer, it is racked and aged for another twelve months in oak. Roughly three years after harvest, the wine is bottled and rests for six more months before release.
“Il Magno” is a refined and elegant Piemonte DOC Pinot Noir, showing a ruby-red color and complex aromas of ripe cherries, violets, rose petals, and subtle oak notes. On the palate, it is smooth and silky, with fine tannins, bright acidity, and a long, mineral-driven finish. It pairs beautifully with duck in cherry sauce, roast turkey, wild boar, or mushroom risotto, and shines alongside truffle dishes or grilled vegetables.
Wine purchased via Onwine comes directly from the winery. All wineries pack the bottles themselves and hand them over to our shipping partner. Onwine works with boxes the size of 6 or 12 bottles.
To guarantee safe delivery, it is therefore also a requirement that orders are always made in multiples of 6 bottles.
The following shipping costs apply:
6 bottles at the same winery: €6,-
12+ bottles at the same winery: No shipping costs
You can order from several wineries at the same time. The above shipping costs apply to each individual winery.
