      Product description

Cumparone by Abbazia San Giorgio is a vivid natural wine made from 100% Nerello Mascalese. Grown on volcanic soils in Pantelleria, the vines are minimally pruned and harvested early to preserve their natural vitality. Hand-harvested grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts and a 20-day skin maceration. The wine is aged in stainless steel for 12 months without filtration, fining, or added sulfites.

This results in a fresh, juicy red wine with aromas of red berries, sea breeze salinity, and Mediterranean herbs. Cumparone is a vibrant expression of its island terroir—each sip a journey to Pantelleria’s sun-drenched volcanic slopes.

It pairs beautifully with soups, rich fish dishes, tomato-based recipes, light red meats, and aged cheeses. Serve at 15–18 °C to enjoy the pure, energetic character of this unique Sicilian wine.
