Arrocco is the lush, sweet expression of Albana at Fattoria Zerbina. This passito comes from a combination of boxed dried grapes and late-harvested grapes with noble rot on the plant, creating concentration and layering. The fine alluvial soils add tension to the richness, while fermentation in steel and ageing in steel preserve pure fruit expression. The result is an intensely aromatic dessert wine with balance between sweetness and freshness.
In the glass, Arrocco 2023 is rich and seductive. On the palate, you taste dried apricot, honey and candied citrus, with floral accents and a fresh line that keeps the sweetness in check. The texture is full and enveloping, but never unwieldy; the finish is long and layered. A passito with depth, finesse and clear terroir.
At the table, Arrocco shines with blue cheese, desserts with citrus or almond, and as a meditation wine on its own. Its richness also comes into its own beautifully with pastries with dried fruit.
