Weinreich's Tacheles 2022 is a wine that lives up to its name. Tacheles means to speak straightforwardly - and that is exactly what this wine does: pure, honest and unadorned. The grapes grow in vineyards around Bechtheim in Rheinhessen, where soils of loess, loamy weathering and lime marl provide structure and character.
For this natural wine, Bacchus, Silvaner, Scheurebe and Sauvignac are fermented together on the skins. Fermentation takes place with natural yeasts for several weeks, after which the wine is further aged on fine lie in large wooden barrels. The wine is bottled unfiltered and without added sulphites, fully preserving its pure character.
In the glass, Tacheles shows a lively and idiosyncratic style. The wine has a fine tannic structure and a slight phenolic grip that provides tension. On the palate, it is fresh, energetic and full of character, with a structure that invites further exploration. Lightly chilled, this cuvée comes out perfectly with adventurous dishes and pure flavours.
