Maison Safranier's Vade Retro Sulfur Vin de France is a distinct and modern wine that focuses on purity and authenticity. Sourced from clay loam soils and produced with respect for nature, this estate is in conversion to organic farming. The blend of 50% Caladoc and 50% Syrah creates a powerful yet accessible style, where fruit and spiciness come together perfectly.
The grapes are hand-harvested and fully destemmed, followed by classic vinification in temperature-controlled tanks. What makes this wine special is that no sulphite is added, fully preserving the pure character of the grapes. In the glass, it shows a deep violet colour with raspberry-like reflections. The nose is intense and aromatic, with notes of black and red fruit, complemented by nuances of liquorice and a subtle hint of coffee.
On the palate, the wine is round and generous, with soft, supple tannins and a nice structure. The combination of ripe fruit and fresh energy creates a lively and drinkable style with a lingering finish. This wine is an honest and characterful expression of its terroir, ideal for lovers of natural and unfiltered wines.
