Requiebro Petit Verdot is a powerful and characterful red wine that showcases the full potential of this grape variety. The Petit Verdot grapes are grown at an altitude of 650 metres, where the long ripening period results in exceptional concentration, freshness and aromatic intensity. The result is a wine with great depth, structure and a distinct character of its own.
Following cold maceration and temperature-controlled fermentation, the wine is aged for no less than 18 months in French oak Bordeaux barrels and larger 500-litre casks. This extended ageing lends the wine extra complexity, whilst preserving the fruit and elegance of the grape.
In the glass, it displays a deep ruby-red colour with intense purple reflections. The bouquet combines blackcurrants, blueberry liqueur, coffee, cedar wood and pronounced mineral notes reminiscent of slate. The palate is both powerful and juicy, with ripe tannins, a lovely balance and a long, explosive finish. An excellent accompaniment to red meat, game, stews, grilled meat and mature cheeses.
