Product description
The Steinrössel is the single-vineyard top wine from Weingut Keber Kolling’s white wine range. The wine comes from the Sommerlocher Steinrossel-lage of the same name, one of the estate’s two main vineyards. The gravel- and sandstone-rich soil of the Steinrossel-lage gives the Riesling a distinctive minerality and depth that ordinary Riesling lacks.
Full-bodied and powerful thanks to a long period of lees ageing, as the estate describes it. Spontaneous fermentation gives it a distinctive aromatic profile. Clear and golden-yellow in the glass. The aroma is pronounced and complex: spicy, mineral and full-bodied, with notes of ripe fruit and a typical Riesling acidity that ties everything together. On the palate, it is harmonious and full-bodied with a long, mineral finish.
A wine that deserves to be served with something special. It pairs beautifully with robust fish dishes such as grilled sea bass or pan-fried zander, but also with Asian dishes featuring ginger and lemongrass. It is equally impressive with poultry in a rich sauce or a platter of mature soft cheeses. Serve at 10–12°C and allow it to breathe for a moment after uncorking.
