Marqués del Hueco Tempranillo is a classic Rioja originating from Laguardia in Rioja Alavesa, where chalky and clay-rich soils and a sunny southern exposure ensure optimal ripening and concentration. The wine is made from 100% Tempranillo, sourced from vines 20 to 30 years old, ensuring balance between fruit expression and structure.
After a manual harvest in late October, the grapes are carefully selected and undergo a short cold maceration to optimally extract aromas and colour. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures with indigenous yeasts, followed by regular remontages to develop structure and depth.
In the glass, the wine shows a deep garnet red colour. The nose is complex and elegant, with notes of forest herbs, bay leaf and balsamic accents, complemented by menthol and spicy nuances such as cinnamon, sandalwood and nutmeg. On the palate, it is supple and refined, with fresh tannins, a silky texture and a long, creamy finish.
