Marqués del Hueco Rosado is a fresh and expressive Rioja rosé composed of 50% Viura, 30% Garnacha and 20% Tempranillo, from around 25-year-old vines at an altitude of 500 metres. The lime, clay and alluvial soils provide a nice balance between freshness, fruit and structure, while the southern exposure contributes to optimal ripening.
After manual harvest, the grapes undergo a short cold maceration to subtly extract aromas and colour. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures to preserve the fresh, fruity character. The wine then matures for a further five months on fine lie, adding extra roundness and complexity.
In the glass, it shows a bright salmon-pink colour. The nose is lively with notes of strawberry, raspberry and citrus such as orange peel and grapefruit, complemented by a light floral touch of jasmine. On the palate, it is fresh and supple, with nice acidity, a light body and a soft, elegant finish.
The wine comes directly from the winemakers, they send the bottles themselves.
